Episode [5]: Transformation in the darkness with Wren McMurddo of The Dark Days Tarot

In this episode I interview the artist and magic maker behind The Dark Days Tarot, Wren McMurdo.

Wren is a believer in facing the darkness - from truth-telling tarot cards to emotions + depression to our current political and environmental situation.  Wren sees the shadow as an opportunity for transformation and deep inner healing.  That call to action and to create a shift is a thread that runs through our conversation.

In this episode, Wren + I explore:

  • Releasing the negative stigma of emotions and instead embracing them as a portal for healing our heart space
  • Wren's inspirations behind the deck, including environmentalism and social justice
  • The way that Wren connects to her intuition within her business
  • Wren's journey from fashion school to owning a chocolate business to illustrating her own Tarot deck
  • How the cards with a shadow side can be a call to create a shift and change within your own life and work
  • The power of play and creativity

Dark Days Tarot was designed, illustrated and published by Wren McMurdo, an intuitive artist in Seattle, Washington. Wren has been studying Tarot for eight years, and has been illustrating since early childhood. She finds joy in her own ever-evolving witchcraft practice. Wren channeled her Cancerian connection to the moon and its phases, in congruence with her concern over the destruction of the planet in creating these cards. She lives with her wife and parakeets.

The Dark Days Tarot deck is inspired by the dark side of the moon; the blackest nights of the lunar cycle.

Darkness is the subconscious, the dream world, the spirit realm, the unknown, and fertile ground for self-reflection.

Dark unlit nights offer an opportunity to “see” with senses other than physical sight. Answers, clues, and journeying linger in darkness.

Use this deck when you need deeper understanding and inspiration for forward movement.

Drawing inspiration from lunar archetypes, this deck features a diverse cast of feminine and androgynous characters.

Episode [4]: Using guiding cards from the Tarot to lead you forward in your business path

Over the past few months, I have been feeling into the shift of my business as I focus towards supporting entrepreneurs in strengthening their intuition and inherent gifts.

As I have been navigating through this journey, I have called forth two guiding cards or signifier cards to guide me forward towards fully stepping into this transition:  The Empress and the Mother of Pentacles.

When I was feeling into the energy of my business back in 2014, before I knew what it would be called, The Hermit came forward to be as being the archetype of my business.  It was my signifier card.

Now it feels as though the Hermit, as he has been sitting in communion with the High Priestess, has called forth the Empress and the Mother of Pentacles to gather under the light of his lantern within his mystic's cave.

Having a Tarot card to serve as inspiration within my work has really been a powerful practice to help keep me focused on the path, the mission, and the vision of my business.

In this episode, I share with you:

  • What is a signifier card
  • The energetic fingerprint of the Hermit and how it helped to guide  me forward in the first phase of my business
  • The way the Empress and the Mother of Pentacles have stepped forward for me
  • A deep exploration of the Empress and the Mother of Pentacles within the Tarot
  • How to select a guiding card for your own business

Episode [2]: What kind of intuition do you have?

I am so excited for today’s episode!  Today we are going to talk about one of my all-time favorite subjects:  Intuition, and more specifically, the 7 main ways that our inner sense of wisdom can speak to us.  One of the things that fascinates me most about intuition is that, just in the way that we all may have different learning styles, we all also have different styles of receiving intuitive nudges.

In today’s episode, we are going to explore these 7 different ways that we can connect with our intuition, how you already may work with one of these types of intuition within your daily life and within your work, and how you can harness the power of your specific type of intuition to really accentuate your life and business.

We'll be looking at how the following clairs can come forward for you within your day-to-day experience (with show time for each clair):

  • Clairvoyance (12:30)
  • Clairgustance (21:30)
  • Claircognizance (26:00)
  • Clairaudience (33:30)
  • Clairaliance (38:12)
  • Clairtangency (43:16)
  • Clairsentience (50:24)
